神経ネットワークの要であるシナプスの形成や維持の分子機構を探索するために必須となる、樹状突起スパインの形態と分子動態を定量的に測定するための技術開発を実施する。単一スパインの形態をナノスケールで正確に測定し、スパイン形態の客観的な分類法を提案する。またスパイン形態の測定とスパイン内部での分子動態の測定を並行して行うことで、形態変化とシグナル分子の動的制御を説明するモデルの構築を推進する。
