Imaging technologies for integrated analysis of spine dynamics and molecular mobility

We develop methods that detect and measure structure and molecular dynamics of dendritic spines, the key components of functional neuronal network. The research includes precise measurements of nano-scale structure of single spines and design of objective criteria for spine classification. Measurements of both spine structure and molecular dynamics will facilitate construction of a model that explains bidirectional interactions between structural changes and dynamic regulation of signaling molecules.
